Ah, sequencing!!! This is one of the things I love most about filmmaking. A great sequence, in which the character arc, the visual elements, and the score all fuse into one choreographed dance. love that—makes me wanna rewatch... it's been interesting for me to navigate sequencing for albums and poetry books that don't usually have a narrative... I find a lot of structural/thematic reference inspo from natural rhythms—the course of a day and through the night, the four seasons, birth to death, and new life... some time I'll have to try a longer narrative
I totally get that too, I’m a free verse poet and about to publish my first collection. Just sequenced it into four sections a couple weeks ago!! It was such a similar process to what you described in your post - this really blessed me 🙏
